Does anyone know anything about/have any experience of either of these two schools? My thinking is that Merrywood possibly caters for children with higher levels of need and is slightly more specialised in terms of dealing with trauma/attachment issues/LAC/FLAC but it would be good to get an idea of what either school is like from anyone with experience of them.

I get that Merrywoood in particular has only been open for a short time and has very few children on roll so it might be unlikely.

TIA anyway Flowers

I'm dubious about new schools so would go for Chelsea Group. We visited it many many years ago when my first DS was a toddler. There was a lovely head who ran the place, but don't know if she is still there.

They take children with a range of learning learnings- including severe complex needs. It's a lovely school with a good ethos. But it's one of those schools where it best to get your child in at an early age rather than later. I decided against it for DD because of peer group. But other than that, I thought it was a great school.

Thank you. Merrywood are opening a new site in Sutton in the new academic year but it's difficult to get any objective sense of either school because of the lack of external validation...

Good to hear about your experience of Chelsea. The thing that is holding me back there is the need then to look for another school for secondary whereas Merrywood would be all-through.

I don't see a school going through to a secondary school as a good thing. But I'm a person who is a believer of changer. Plus your child may want a change of environment up until that point.

Chelsea Group of children have a very therapeutic provision. Yr3 is not too late! But I don't think k it's academic, it's keep about getting those early foundation skills. But I could be wrong. I love their ethos and what they provide in terms of provision. I think it would be worth it

Hi everyone my kid is 4 year and 6 months old and has been recently diagnosed with ASD. We are planning to apply for an admission at Chelsea group of children. Is it a good school? Do they concentrate both on academics and therapy?

Hi there
My son has been offered an assessment at Merrywood. Could you give me any inside info? He is in year 8. Very difficult to find information on the website. When I spoke top admissions I was informed they only go to year 9 at present. School hoping for funding for years 10 and 11. Many thanks
