dd has just seen the dentist and he wants to remove 3 of her baby teeth under anaesthetic. He said they don't fill teeth of kids with CP cos its too hard. Just take them out. I feel sick thinking about it.
We clean her teeth but she does drink soya formula from a bottle (she can't use a cup and needs the calories of the formuala) and of course, food stays in her mouth for ages cos of her CP.
Should I get a second opinion? Anyone everyu had teeth out for a 3 yo?
I feel like a total failre and feel awful that dd is going to have more horrible things done to her

Oh I see! They wanted GA for my DS1 when they wanted to take his teeth and if he was going to have them out I think I would have gone down that route.

But when it was just one tooth, they gave him gas and air (didn't knock him out, just like what you have in labour), relaxed him and made the pain less. Then he had some magic cream and then the injection.

He did have to listen to instructions carefully though and did co-operate so maybe a GA would be best for your daughter.

Good luck.

My DS1 is having the cartilage in his ear moved under local anaesthetic soon (to stop it sticking out). Worried sick!!

I've seen that op Emma, looked pretty straightforward. Always a worry though. This year we've done botox twice under a GA plus an MRI. The second botox they were going to cut her adductor (inner thigh) muscles which made me feel sick inside but they just did the botox in the end. but next year it will be cut muscles and one day the full hip op
