A while ago you talked about a book called a positive approach to Autism. And I just wanted to say how excellent I thought it is. I have little experience of children with autism, but you never know when you might meet one (I am a teacher) and this was a real eye opener about what such children experience. I am only chapter 2 - but I am really finding it interesting.

I hope you don't mind me writing this - I don't want to offend you!

What a coincidence- I was just flicking through it again last night. It is useful to understand the sensory stuff.

I've been told by school recently that ds1 refuses to enter the orange room. Then found out last week that he will now tolerate it for brief periods- then they added "Mr so and so has fixed the strip lighting it wasn't working properly for a whike". Hmmmmm well I wonder why he wouldn't enter the room!

NAME OF BOOK AND AUTHOR PLEASE ... My DD has been dx with autism and I am constantly trying to understand and help DH understand. He has a large amount of denial about the dx keeps blaming it on other things.

I LOVE More Than Words. It is a fantastic book and very practical. I was very proud when my dd officially became a 'Requester'!
