Just received my son's DLA renewal pack. His award ends in March 2021 but form asks to send it back immediately, doesn't say by which date. Hate filling these forms. Anyone in similar situation ?

Have you heard anything back yet about your claim , I’m still waiting and feeling my anxiety kicking in having to wait I’ve phoned and phoned and they just said it’s in a que , I’m hopping my sons rate goes up and his the autism side and the medical condition

Hi,
I received back pay on 28/06 (they added low-rate mobility to the continued high-rate care). It took 10 weeks in total.
How long have you been waiting now? Did you send much evidence in?
The waiting bit is extremely stressful. They kept telling me that it was in the queue. In fact, I rang 2 days prior to the pending transaction in my bank account and they told me it was still in the queue waiting for the case manager and to expect it the week before my son's claim was due to end (15/07).

I sent mine in April but the old claim isn’t due to run out until 9th sept , I’ve added echp from school , doctors letter and letter about medical condition, and 4 extra pages I’ve added on , so so stressful to wait I phoned today and still said in a que

They keep telling me they won’t look at it until atleast a week before old claim is due up

Dabbo103 · 14/07/2021 09:26

I find it ridiculously unfair that if you send your claim earlier than someone else, if theirs runs out before yours, their claim gets looked at first.

However, they kept saying the same thing to me and mine was completed weeks before. Hopefully, that will be the same for you.
If it does get increased, think about the backpay Smile

Yeah I find it very stressful that they do that , cause people could send there’s in late and will still get looked at before when other are already there , fingers crossed been panicking about it all , my son is 7 he’s got medical condition from birth hypothermia, that we got middle rate care for now renewing with his autism and noice sensitive and waiting for adhd assessment aswell , so fingers crossed , my son was dignosed with autism 2018 I called DLA to tell them this and the lady on the phone said “ just because he’s autistic doesn’t mean he gets more money” I said to the lady I thought I was doing the right thing by informing them and she just was so horrible over the phone

Dabbo103 I still haven’t heard anything from the DLA and my claim is due to run out on the 7th sep I send all my forms back in may , I’ve phoned up every single week with no joy I just phoned this morning and got a jobsworth of a woman saying all claims are urgent and that they are still doing claims for this month , I said I struggle with really bad anxiety and they are not helping I phoned Monday and spoke to a really helpful man who said he was going to push my claim and I should here by the end of this week then I talk to an awful woman who’s not helpful at all

@Dabbo103 mine has been looked at after I told them I wasn’t happy with the wait , they have added low mobility but told me it won’t be back paid

Slightly off topic but how do I send in further evidence for my new application? Is there an email or a postal address and so I just include the reference number?

danni0509 · 22/09/2021 21:24

@kinglass2016

The address is

Disability Benefit Centre 4
Post Handling Site B
Wolverhampton
WV99 1BY

Add a covering letter to say you want to add this additional information to your child’s claim, put your child’s name / date of birth / reference number on the top of your covering letter AND the top of the additional evidence.

Hth.

good Evening! I still have a while to go for my child’s renewal, it runs out November 23. But it plays on my mind…

do I get the whole form again?
or do I get something along the lines of ‘have their needs changed’
I know people who have had the 1st and people who have had the ‘have their needs changed’
