ds2 5 with mild CP & Autism has always been so passive & difficult to motivate but over the last 3 weeks his behaviour has started to worsen.
He is chucking himself around the room & throwing objects, throwing things on to the floor, I think trying to make as much noise as possible, normally he hates noise. Our floors are wooden so everything echos.
I am not sure what has triggered this sudden change? He has started school recently & seems to of settled in very well so I am hoping it isn't the change.

Has anybody else had similar if so what were the triggers or the cures??

Has he got glue ear at the moment? Perhaps he's not hearing as well and making noises to try and get the same sounds & reactions as before.

The big trigger with my two is tiredness. School seems to take a lot out of them, even when they really enjoy it.

OH you both could be right, he had a chest infection a few weeks back but I guess it may of made his glue ear worse AND his sleep has been all over the place, waking in the night & very early.

I feel a bit thick now sometimes you just don't think of the obvious.

He is much worse late afternoon/evening so this would be as he is getting tired.
He completely stripped the bookshelves this morning though & spread the books all over the floor.

This is a boy who normally loves order & calm.
Thanks for your help.

Even very placid ds1, who practically needs a cattle-prod to get him anywhere, has been having a few raging meltdowns at home just lately. He really enjoys school but I think it can sometimes get too much for him.

Hope your ds2 is back to his usual calm self soon. xx

I hope it's "just" glue ear or tiredness, as there's something you can do about it and it doesn't involve a lot of intervention.
