Back to school anxiety, school are shambles

Feeling slightly anxious about son returning to the classroom today. Son is 7 and is being assessed for possible asd/adhd but this has obviously been slowed down by the pandemic. Returning to school means a new teacher (shouty 😢) and obviously all of the other changes now in line with the madness of the current times. I tried to arrange a meeting to ensure the new teacher understands his needs (as much as she can when he doesn't necessarily have specific triggers for outbursts but obviously placing too many demands on him is one, he struggles with school work) but apparently at the moment no parents are allowed in the school??!! Also his interventions he used to have which really helped him won't be running for the first couple of weeks... So I'm wondering what my rights are, does he have to be there full time to begin with? If he has a particular bad day could I take him out... Can I insist on them putting things in place straight away (it's not like they haven't had enough time to arrange) it's a talk about feelings group but also I don't think the senco is teaching for the first couple of weeks... I need to find out more about that actually. I only found this information out over the phone so am I best to email so I have something written and proof as it doesn't look like they're catering for him or other sen children very well at this Stage does it? Thanks in advance for any help. I just want what is best for my child and for him to progress well as he's not had the easiest time of it.

You're completely right to want to put things in place at the very beginning.

And if you can't go in, can you email or phone the teacher? Why didn't they offer this? Sounds like they just don't want to.

Is the senco not available at the moment? If it was me, and I got no response from the teacher and the senco, I would contact the head teacher. Your child needs reasonable adjustments in place now.
