I must be tired cos I read that as bugger. And then wondered if there are swear words in makaton.

Left hand cupped upwards, right hand cupped downwards. Move up and down towards each other.

Have pocket book in front of me but I'm not very good at describing!!

That's fab Hamster, you are very good actually! Thank you.

Slight variation from wheresthehamster reply, left hand cupped upwards and right hand cupped downwards then move right cupped hand on top of left cupped hand to close once then swap to right upwards and left downwards and close once.

Nearly the same, but I think this one is the sign for cheeseburger, or it might be a regional variation.

Perhaps its a "dialect" Supportman

Yours sounds a bit like how a burger might be made.

The two different signs for fish always make me laugh... fish in a bowl... a waggling hand.. fish on a plate for dinner.. a feebly flapping hand on top of another!

Then again it might have been me mis- interpreting the up and down arrows .

It's not one I know so I can't say for sure.

I have just checked my makaton video and for burger it showed as I said. True about the dialect shiny, different regions have different 'accents' and it gets even more confusing with different types of sign language. I mainly use makaton wherever I go but my first shift at a place that uses BSL was interesting to say the least and I found that sometimes the same sign means two totally different things between makaton and BSL, they was probably thinking what the hell was I going on about (or what the hell I was on )

Also I have heard about a sign language called pagent gourmet? which is used up north I think and to confuse it even further some people will use their own variations and its a case of knowing what means what to who.

Oh and the drawn signs can be a bit confusing at times wheresthehamster, thats why I like my video as there can be no confusion
