Finalky got ECHP for Asd son in year 6.

I the LA provision is not adequate for my son. Contacted three indie out of LA schools which all say they are full. I understand that the LA won’t want to fund out if area indie, but if the indie schools can’t/wont admit my son can’t see the tribunal going well.

Does anyone have advice/experience of this?

I think you need proper advice from sossen! or ipsea.
Do you have any other ideas for schools even further out or other arrangements whikst a school is found, is your child at school at the moment? Is this a place for next year (secondary) or for now. What is the issue with the LA school that makes it inadequete? Sorry to bombard with questions its just the thought process we had to go through.
You could end up in a difficult position of proving the LA suggested school wont provide an adequete education but not having a place at another school. We had a whole year out of school.

Yes I will be getting in touch with IPSEA. is is a secondary place au am looking for.

My son needs residential/part time boarding and there is none in my LA. I am a single parent and struggling with his meltdowns at home, I even had to pick him up early from an LA run respite weekend as they couldn’t cope with his behaviour.

However he does have academic potential ( great at maths) . He now has 1:1 support in class, but this had only been put in place recently.

Yes if there is nowhere suitable look outside your area. Look for autism specific schools. like the Priory Group schools.

Our son went 160 miles away from home to a specialist college as there was nothing suitable in the local area. We had to fight for it but it was the best thing that ever happened to him.
