Didn't take that long for the 'no' last year when we applied (apparently DD2 being "a good little girl" is reason to refuse her - I took it to MR which again came through fairly quickly but didn't have the mental health to fight it further at that point in time)

Funnyface1 · 16/11/2019 13:08

I've sent off forms at the start of the week and was wondering this too. Do they still text to say they've received the forms? I feel like I usually get one but I haven't so far this time.

JessicaKenny2018 · 16/11/2019 15:14

@Funnyface1 yeah they still text taking about 7-10 working days to scan on the system at the moment what have you sent forms in for change of circumstances or renewal x

Funnyface1 · 16/11/2019 17:58

It's renewal, due to run out in the middle of January. I can be patient as long as I know they've definitely received the forms. I'll wait another full week before I call to confirm.

elliejjtiny · 16/11/2019 22:42

I'm waiting at the moment. We got a letter 2 weeks ago to say they got our form on 17th October. Not sure how long we will have to wait for a decision though.

Funnyface1 · 17/11/2019 08:36

Well good luck to you both. I'll definitely feel better when I just have confirmation that my forms were received. I really don't like having this hanging over my head at Christmas though.

JessicaKenny2018 · 17/11/2019 10:03

@Funnyface1 it is horrible waiting over Xmas isn't it, ours is a change in circumstances and there currently saying around 15-16 weeks on a decision time which takes us into early February

BeefTomato · 17/11/2019 11:28

We're waiting too. They texted us on the 4th November saying that they had received the form (I believe it would have arrived at their office on 30th October) and the text said that the decision could take up to 8 weeks. Ours is a new claim and I've got no idea whether it will be accepted or not.

0ddsocks · 17/11/2019 19:05

We sent off a new claim and got the ‘we’ve received it’ text on 22/10. We got our decision letter (accepted) yesterday so that’s 4 weeks. Much quicker than I expected.

JessicaKenny2018 · 17/11/2019 20:07

Wow @0ddsocks that was quick, apparently there prioritising new claims and change of circumstances is taking longer, when I called they said there really busy ours was scanned on in the 8th November just a waiting game now, my son currently gets middle rate care and is 3 will be 4 in January he has asc diagnosis x

OP posts:
Funnyface1 · 17/11/2019 20:32

That is really quite quick, good to know. In theory I have a small chance of a decision before Christmas then.

Funnyface1 · 04/12/2019 20:29

Well ours didn't get scanned until the 26th of November. I'm not getting a decision before Christmas am I?

Aeris1 · 05/12/2019 20:30

I had a letter saying my renewal was received 15/11 and found out today about my award. Is has taken 3 weeks, I did send a lot of evidence and information but was still surprised it was sorted out so quickly.

elliejjtiny · 06/12/2019 20:29

@Aeris1 I'm impressed

I'm still waiting for my 5 year old's decision. 7 weeks since the form was scanned onto the system so hopefully it will be soon. I'm also still waiting for the clinic report from the consultant who we saw in September. It was sat on his desk waiting to be signed 7 weeks ago and I've been phoning his secretary every week since then to chase it up. I'm glad I didn't wait for it before sending in the dla form now.

Aeris1 · 06/12/2019 21:06

The full diagnosis for my little boy was early this year and I had his echp plan and recent paediatric, salt and phycology reports to name a few so I think I was lucky having all the evidence of diagnosis and extra care. My little boy is 4 now, when I first applied for him I waited a couple of months and was asked for more evidence. I think I was lucky this time that everything I had was current.

Sueannh · 07/12/2019 12:59

We have just been refused dissbility at tribunal for our baby who suffers with subglottic stenosis ,we had been waiting since april for this decision

elliejjtiny · 07/12/2019 20:42

So sorry @Sueannh. My 11 year old has ehlers danlos syndrome and sensory processing disorder and he was turned down at tribunal this year at renewal.

We got a decision about my 5 year old's claim today. He has been awarded middle rate care. Big sigh of relief.

x2boys · 10/12/2019 09:06

My son has been on medium rate care since he was 3 and low rate mobility since he was five has severe autism is learning disabilities , I did a change of circumstances in marching this year as he's nine now and his needs are greater ( the original award was up until he was 16) they contacted me in May to say they were sticking to MRC, and LRM but lowered the award too 2022 Hmm I did a mandatory reconsideration ,and they stuck to their decision so I took it to tribunal , which was yesterday he was awarded high rate care and high rate mobility ( under SMI rules) but relief .

x2boys · 10/12/2019 09:06

And it was back dated to March of this year .

JessicaKenny2018 · 12/12/2019 20:32

@x2boys glad your son got the decision he deserves.
We are currently on week 6 now waiting for a decision for change of circumstances, apparently it's taking around 16 weeks at the moment for change of circumstances.

Charcoley1992 · 20/01/2020 17:45

Yes me takes me to early April

Emma0112 · 31/01/2020 09:36

@JessicaKenny2018 did you get a decision early or did it take the full 16 weeks?
I’m currently waiting for them too for my son under change of circumstances.

JessicaKenny2018 · 31/01/2020 10:13

@Emma0112 we're nearly at 14 weeks and still waiting for a decision, when did you send your form back?

OP posts:
Emma0112 · 31/01/2020 10:16

@JessicaKenny2018
They sent me a text on 19th dec and said it will take 11 weeks then when I called them last week they said 14 weeks.
I don’t get why text is saying 11 weeks but verbal they told me 14 weeks.
