Dd attends college. LA have agreed to fund transport .... but as a shared taxi ... it means for 1 of her college days she will have to be picked up at 8 and picked up at end of college day at 3.45. However, her timetable for that day is 10.45 - 2.45.

Does LA have to fund private individual transport or do I have to agree to these times for dd?

I’ve explained to LA that due to dd’s disabilities, this isn’t right for her but they’re refusing to offer anything else. I don’t know where I stand and what they legally have to give dd.

Any advice?

Currently, my understanding is that there is a loophole in the law, and there is no statutory duty for them to provide transport at all.
Your dd is better off than a lot of other 16 - 18 yr olds currently.
I know it shouldn't be a race to the bottom, but at the moment, there is no statutory duty to provide any transport.

This is being fought in towns and Cities across the country - I was watching the Council debate on line from Leicester only today, and I know Birmingham are looking into it again, but I'm sure there are local groups campaigning across the country.

Contact have been doing a lot of campaigning and awareness raising.
You can call their helpline for legal advice.
