Child Autism UK for ABA...anyone?

Hello
My son is 2.5 and hasn't been diagnosed yet, but he recently had a Bayleys test and scored a year behind for cognitive and fine motor skills...he has issues with receptive language, not expressive language.

I've always had to teach him everything, how to do peg boards, how to hold a pen, how to play with toys...things I haven't had to teach my other two.

Anyway, we've had a referral for an early help forum thingy, but we've been declined for SALT as they've said his cognitive abilities are less than his language abilities...quite annoying!

So I'm looking into ABA. Money is very tight, I've come across Child Autism UK who can come into the home and teach us how to help him with ABA and come back monthly to update his plan.

Has anybody had experience with them?
Thank you!

We used them for a couple of years with my DS before he started school. If you are definitely decided that ABA is the way forward for your DS then I would say they are a really good provider. I found our consultant flexible, sensible, realistic and easy to get advice from between meetings. What things are you wanting help on? I found ABA helpful for learning some tasks eg dressing, toilet training, academic stuff, etc but not so good for communication and have since become a huge fan of Intensive Interaction which has helped us connect with our DS in a way ABA never could have done. Feel free to PM me if you want a chat.
