O ne a day wow......
Dd hs just got the padded pants and is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo proud and dry.
I was told by our incontinece advisor that they can have pull ups if there is a chance they will be dry or if it affects their self asteem.

Fio - I wish we could tak hun, i have loads of literature on this and have spent HOURS researching it.

I know someone who challenged this as she said that, if the need was agreed then it should be met, however many "units" that might mean. I suspect she harrased Soc Svs but I'm not sure, she is quite scary so they prob decided to give in! I now get 2 x absorbent/disposable bed sheet things (like those Pampers things) as DS bedwets. I got this sorted through the Community nurse at the local hospital who also deals with Eneurisis probs, having tried via Specialist HV and Soc Svs. Maybe see if you have someone like that, get GP to write a letter, get written support from anyone else you can think of???? TBH I don't really use the sheets for DS as it took so long I had spent a lot of £££ on washable things but they are good for back up and for DD who is 4 and so at the right stage. As much as anything I want the principle established and access to the sheet things for the future....

our incontince service provides a 'contribution' with 2 nappeis a day. No more, and nothing if you're dry by day but incontinent at night.

I always wish I could be one of those scary people davros.

davros, we get 2 of those really expensive washable things a year (so i have 4 now) and they are fantastic. I never thought about getting my social worker involved, she is actually really good on these matters.

The incontinence nurse is going out to the school 'apprently' and when i dont know as they break up on tuesday but I am panicking now as dd has been dry during the day for the past 2 weeks (yay!) and now I am worried they will take them off me altogether (argh)

its fio btw

Mabs are you getting any further on with the nappies thing?

Davros · 19/07/2007 19:45

Believe me, you don't want to be as scary as this woman! She usually gets what she wants but puts a lot of peoples' backs up (inc other parents) and I do think it becomes counterproductive over time.
