Repeat of prog shown a while ago. I didn't see it before so will tape it, should make interesting viewing! My trusty Radio Times says something like, Jo Frost brings in Autism expert and they teach child with ASD to communicate...... or something like that! Har, har sounds easy then!

Do you think she'll be able to deal with ours?
I think not!
Haven't 'seen' you about for a while. Been enjoying RL?

I have been enjoying RL - as golf lessons (now finished) and dyed hair will atest!

Oh wow, so all I need is to get Supernanny Jo Frost in and my son will speak!

I have to watch it, even though it'll probably end up winding me up. Can't stand Jo Frost. Thanks for flagging this.

ooopos, missed it, still I doubt it was a great loss.

PersonalHouseElf · 15/07/2007 20:11

The doc may have had 25 years experience but most of it was stating the bleedin' obvious I thought.
'Ignore the tantrum' 'Say the words to him, reward when he attempts to talk' 'Use pictures to show what's going on'
Ummm....dur.

I dont know what you all think but I didnt like the thing with the dinner- forcing him to speak to get some dinner?! Will create massive issues over food I think.

PersonalHouseElf · 15/07/2007 20:27

I forgot about that, although to be fair, I make ds say 'ds wants *%^$' before he gets them.
But he knows that he will get them. If he is not having them, I will have already said no.
And ds is 5.

didn't know who to feel more sorry for, the parents who had given up trying to enjoy life with tehir kids or the kids.
Was oodd that I watch it as I don;t normally watch much TV at that time, but boy was happy pottering around with his cars so long as I didn;t mind being a road every now and then.

I saw this programme first time round and was really moved by the fact that Supernanny managed to change this family's life. No, she's not an ASD expert but I think she's just a really good person and actually made a huge difference to these people. The mother had shut down to all her children and both parents completely ignored the ASD boy.
