I posted a message a few days ago about a visit to my GP which ended with me in tears. I asked about respite for DS2 so that I could spend time with DS1. GP looked at me like I had crawled out from under a stone. I immediately came onto mumsnet (looking for sympathy) and you were fab - really cheered me up! Anyway, I got a call from the HV last night. Apparently my GP had rung her and asked if she could help, and SHE HAS FOUND AN ORGANISATION WHO WILL HELP!!
Maybe GP was having a bad day

Nat, why do you feel you have to say sorry? For a start, the GP was in the wrong, but finally found a conscience!

Hope you get some help soon! I have someone from an organisation come to babysit, and although at first it was slightly daunting inviting someone into the home to take over my role, it works very very well and feels wonderful!!

Glad you are again.

Maybe your GP is a secret MN'er and felt guilty after reading your thread.

Maybe you misinterpreted GP's stare because you felt uncomfortable asking?

Maybe GP was having a bad day and felt bad?

who cares .. fabulous that you will be able to access the respite you need and deserve.
