Looking for bright DS with dysgraphia, some processing/attention problems and dyspraxic tendencies. Any views would be much appreciated, TIA.

My son is in year 8 at MH. He has ADHD, dyslexia & dyspraxia. Though my wife's unsure about the dyspraxia. I cannot speak highly enough of the school.

The application process is essentially send the assessment reports you have. See the head without your son to talk about his needs & your son does a trial day. I suggest that you speak to MH & see the head if they & you feel it's a suitable school.

All parents & children are different but it's such an outstanding school in my opinion that it's worth your investigating it.

All the boys are individually timetabled depending on their needs. The school also does music & drama. The music department is excellent. I've little experience of the drama. The only thing it doesn't really do is sport. There are the occasional matches against other schools but the nature of the challenges each child has are such that sport tends not to be their strong suit. Though they do games/PE internally & have a pool.

Have a look if you & your son like it and if it's the right school you'll be impressed by what the school achieves.

Depends how much support your DS needs - Seaford are aiming for a higher academic standard than they used to and are moving away from their previous reputation for being a private school for SEN children. I do have several friends there with Dyslexic kids who are thriving. Sport and other facilities are excellent. I know from friends that social lives can be difficult to arrange as day pupils are spread over a wide geographic area.

MH is different in that all the boys there have some form of SEN, but again all the boys I know there are thriving!

A friend of mine moved her dyslexic son from our local primary to Seaford 18 months ago and he has utterly thrived. They are very pleased with the school.
