SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

I know Legoland lets ASD kids avoid queues....do any other theme parks/places do this?

Just wondered, our ds has only recently been diagnosed so we are trying to get as well informed as we can.

Really. We might go when the Harry Potter park opens wherever that is, it would be a bonus if that were the case. We went to Legoland last week and it felt very strange not queuing and in some ways took away the atmosphere and anticipation. Shouldnt complain though I know.

Disneyland will give you a bluecard for any recognised disability. They will take you to the front of the queue, wherever possible. They also have special areas set aside in the Parades for people with blue cards

Chessington, Thorpe Park both give you exit passes

Does the system get abused? When we went to Legolannd I felt that the letter we showed them could have said anything, the people on the desk werent interested in reading it they just accepted what we said.

Hi all, does anyone know what kind of 'proof' you need to take to get an Exit pass? My Ds2 does not get DLA at the moment but I do have his diagnosis in writing from his Psychiatrist.
TIA

I have an Icount card that you can use anywhere. I have even used mine in the IOW

~We still havent the had full diagnosis letter and the school wouldnt act until they had it so I phoned the hospital and asked them to do a two liner just for the school, but we took this same letter to Legoland last week and that was all we needed. I dont think we are going to qualify for DLA. I need to look into this actually. I dont have to get up in the night or ever need respite. Other than when its time to do schoolwork we dont have major problems with DS. I guess I should call and get the forms. If we did qualify I guess it would be on the lower level. Anyone know what kind of sums we are talking about. Im not that comfortable at claiming to be honest.

do they only do this with ASD as dd doesn't do waiting and it can ruin an outing.

frascati · 16/06/2007 23:19

2shoes ~ they do it for any disability. I know an adult who is deaf and he gets exit passes.
You also get concessions as a carer too.

goodoh...there just has to be an upside

Legoland was great with us, we didn't know about the exit pass & a member of staff saw ds2 having difficulty coping with a queue & directed us to customer services all we ahd was the clock part of the blue badge in my abg to prove disability & I rolled up his trousers & flashed his splints
Pleasurewood Hills in Suffolk always seems to be quiet & so very few queues & you get in free as a carer, we didn't ask the ticket lady saw ds's m buggy & offered!
