We have had our letter sent for our sons MRI scan it's 3 days after his first birthday.
It says he will have to lay still? And the appointment is for 1.5 hours?
How am I going to get a just turned 1 year old still for 1.5hrs??

Normally babies and young children are sedated for MRIs.
Have you been sent info from the ward in terms of what will happen when? Maybe give them a call to clarify.

(It's unlikely the MRI itself will be 1.5 hours but it might last that long with sedation and recovery, plus normally you're either morning or afternoon session so you have to arrive at the start of each session and wait to go down - but they tend to prioritise babies first).

They said that he wouldn't go under General anaesthesia, is that different to sedation?
No it just a big standard letter explaining before, during and after. It seems as if it's for an older child.
I've tried ringing the department but there is no answer. I will call our consultant who ordered the scan. Thank you
