the tribunal that is.
got a letter from the headteacher of the school we want ds to go to, he says ds fits the admission criteria and that they already have a boy with the same SN as mike and are very used to dealing with pupils with high anxiety.
but he says without an asessment which has to be set up by our lea he cannot gurantee a place but that there are places available.

so the panel will probably ask for an asessment to be carried out and i dont know when that will be.

Do you mean that the LEA have to do an actual assessment to decide whether your ds can go to a particular school, even though he has a statement in place?

My ds's E.P (during the assesment for statement) advised that I look around some SN's schools/units to get an idea of the school that might be suitable for my ds, even though a statement hasn't yet been agreed. But what is the point in getting my hopes up when after (hopefully) getting a statement, the battle has only just began.

Good luck Jenk, you're certainly alot stronger that I am.

i dont feel or look a stronger atm macwoozy!!
i dont understand at all why if ds,s statement fits the admission criteria they cannot say yes.
the lea refused to set up an assessment meeting in march but yesterday as late evidence sent by lea to sendist they say they have never refused to arrange an asessment an indeed if we would like them to then one can be arranged.
what a bunch of tossers.
