There are loads of really helpful closed groups on Facebook - just search DLA.

The Cerebra guide is also highly recommended.

We are currently applying for DLA for our son for the first time ever. His social worker helped me fill out the paperwork for it. I basically described my son’s diagnosis and therapy and equipment needs to them. I included photos of his braces and his wheelchair too on the form.
Also I recommend involving any doctors or therapists who are caring for your child too. I carefully selected a few reports and letters from the therapists and doctors and sent them off as additional evidence with the paperwork.
Now we are having to wait for a official decision to be made. I’m hoping that we will be awarded HRM and MRC for our little guy he can barely walk.
