Thank u!

I believe it may be challenging to get one and that often it is refused first time around, perhaps approved second time.

Is it worthwhile for HFA/Selective Mutism. I guess I’d like more t/a support and some more 1-1 time. Poss chance to select preferred secondary school, best for her needs x

We are in a similar position Blossom. DD in last year of Primary and just got a diagnosis of ASD and PDA. She is just about getting through academically but struggles with maths. When I asked for help last year with maths (prior to diagnosis) I was told there are too many others in the class that need help so she wouldn’t get it as they were worse than her! I’m not sure if she meets the criteria for an EHCP - what is the criteria? Also we want her to go to a specific secondary school that is smaller but without an EHCP I don’t think she would be offered a place (2 other schools available that are closer to us). I’m unsure how to go about this process too - any advice anyone?

If it gets refused appeal, most parental appeals win.

Rainbowsandrascals - criteria for a EHC assessment that has been applied for by a parent is that a child has SEND and MAY require help from an EHC. Apply via email/letter to your council SEND team including any reports from medical professionals.
