Birthday party games for 8 yr old with ASD

DS will be 8 soon and is desperate to have a proper party and invite every child he's ever spoken to some friends.

I can't afford to hire a play centre etc so will be just doing a very simple picnic in the park with some party food etc.

But I'm stuck for any games/activities that will engage the average 7-10 yr old but also be ok for DS Confused He's incredibly rigid about rules and making other people follow them, can't cope with "losing", and doesn't like loud noises.

Any suggestions? I thought biscuit decorating would be good and maybe giant bubbles (the sort you do with a bucket of bubble mixture) as well as bubble wands. But I know the other children will probably expect a bit more in the way of fun and games!

Do people still do the 'mummy' game? They get in groups and nominate one child as a 'mummy' to wrap up in toilet paper. technically the winner is the first to use up all their bog roll but mainly it's just a laugh. works better than the win/lose you're in/out games which really wind up some [ASD] children.

Oh wow that would be perfect thank you Grin DS will find it hilarious and I bet it'll be a new one for most of the others!

Eating chocolate with a knife and fork game? You have a pile of clothes, like a hat, scarf and gloves (anything easy). The child who is in has to put on the clothes, then use a knife and fork to eat chocolate off a giant chocolate bar. All the other children roll a die (or dice) until they get a 6 (or any number you choose), but have to take turns and pass on the die. Once a child gets 6, they are in, and get to eat chocolate.

My DS would struggle with turn taking, so it might be easier if everyone had dice and had to roll a 12 to get “in”.
