Son constantly needing carrying, any suggestions

So ds2 is 4.5, doesn’t quite seem to have the same stamina as his brother.

Anyway, I’m finding I’m carrying him a lot. He seeks cuddles and pressure, he’s up/down/up/down. He also gets very overwhelmed in public spaces, wants to bundle up in us. He has ear defenders and a tablet.

He is awaiting initial assessment at community peads, but in the meanwhile, any suggestions? He’s getting too big to carry.

Its a Sensory thing, try a tight coat, or tight buggy straps, I'm not sure there's much else you can do. Weighted coats are a thing but can be dangerous.

DS is the same age and the exactly the same.

For him, I think he gets overwhelmed so feels safer being carried. Luckily he's small for his age so I can still carry him for short distances.

TBH we still use a buggy in situations he's likely to be overwhelmed - like in shops and busy places. It also keeps him safe, as he's a bolter too.

My ds is the same age. Like the pp said if we're going somewhere we know he'll find difficult we still use the pram. His sister is younger so sometimes he will use the buggy board when she's in the pram.
We also have to drive to a lot of places to reduce the risk of him bolting.

Take a buggy. We used out Phil and Ted for years. Kids could pull hood down so only see their knees

There's also a scooter with a seat with found useful
