After soom lovely advice on getting some support and maybe respite from all of you i was feeling pretty hopefull that i might have some light for me and my son. The only resources for special needs in my home town are run by the NSPCC and only cover the north of my hometown! they have a lovely workshop with sensory room that he could attend a coule of days a week during summer or they can come and do work/play at home to give me some help. I moved to this area bevcause of the better school for speical needs in mainstream. i dont live in the north but the west and they cant help at all!

What do i do now? i dont want ss involved as i have had bad experience with them when i had PND and they kept telling me how my ds was normal, he will grow out of it and ignore his behavoiur. Lived in shame for 4 years believing its my fault he is the way he is now i get told he is suspected ASD.

I can't offer any specific advice but wanted to remind you of the obvious, that DD are not psychiatrists and couldn't have known seriously if anything was the matter with your DS. Don't be put off by a bad experience in the past if they may help this time round. Providing respite help or care may be closer to their area of expertise than providing a medical diagnosis. I hope you find something suitable. And at you for worrying for so long about the cause of your DS's behaviour.
