FOUR!! We are in Scotland...
Can't wait, even tho' a bit worried about ds1's new class teacher - he met her once and has christened her 'Mrs Old'!

coppertop · 12/08/2004 22:26

LOL at "Mrs Old"!

We've got another 3 weeks to go. It hasn't been too bad so far. I even found myself wishing that the holidays were a bit longer! Then I woke up....

7th September - I think school holidays should be banned actually, they haven't been too bad so far, but I can see my enthusiasm and ideas running thin very soon

coppertop · 12/08/2004 22:34

Same here. The playscheme near us has finally closed so there's no escape now. On the positive side we seem to have conquered the art of toilet-training (sort of!) and ds1 has developed an obsession for books, which has done wonders for his vocabulary. On the down side he has finally discovered that famous autie obsession Thomas the bl**dy Tank Engine. Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhh!

Dd has discovered BOYS this holiday!!!! The trouble starts now!!!!

Even worse, she seems to be attracted to the baseball capped teenage variety as I discovered yesterday!!!!

Oh my gawd!!!!

p.s. apologies to everyone I owe e-mail too - replying this weekend hopefully!

If I'd seen this thread on Tuesday I would've been posting right along with you, Fio.

LOL at dottee's baseball-capped potential son(s)-in-law!

I'm not kidding CT its getting serious. A few months back we were coming back from horse riding and the windows were open in the car. We'd slowed down at a junction and dd shouted 'Hello boys' at some 'yoofs' sat on a wall.

Then at bowling on Wednesday, she was craning her neck and turning round on her chair to look at these mid-teens lads sat behind us. It was her turn to gawp at someone.

coppertop · 14/08/2004 10:25

LOL Dottee!

I've just had a taste of what's to come in September (ooer!). The appointments for next month are all rolling in because everyone seems to have the summer off. The appointment to see the Paed has been scheduled at the CDU on ds1's 3rd morning at school. If I can't change it I'm not exactly going to be popular with the school. The dragon Head will probably use it as an excuse to make ds1 stay part-time for even longer. Grrrr!

Another good one today CT. I was taking dd into playscheme and she's very fond of books.

She took one without her name on it so at the venue, I started scribbling her name in the front.

She told me her first name and then her surname as I started to write. And then started to spell it out her first name to me letter by letter. I've not heard her do this before. I looked up at her and said 'alright I can spell your name' but secretly I was a really pround mama!

coppertop · 19/08/2004 23:00

Awwwwww! Well done mini-dottee!

dottee · 19/08/2004 23:26

And when I picked her up, she started 'gawping' at an auty boy who was having a paddy outside. I told her to turn round and mind her business but she kept sneeking a peep. Which made me realise how difficult it is for mums of NT kids to stop gawping at us.
