SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Any recommendations for a straightforward, easy to read book about puberty for an anxious ADHD child.

I've explained the basics about growing up to DD9 but mostly she just responds with "gross, I'm never having babies!" and then goes off to do something else. I'm not sure how much attention she is really paying.
I would really like a very straightforward book she can look at in her own time. The books generally recommended seem quite lengthy and wordy and have more detail than she really needs or could comfortably process at this stage.
Does anyone have any suitable suggestions for a SEN child that will inform her without overloading her?
Thanks.

Hi there,
I'm not sure if this will be the kind of thing you are looking for, but we've produced a picture book about starting your period called "Susan's Growing Up". The book tells a story completely in pictures about a young girl who gets her first period and what this means. There's some supporting text and information at the back of the book, but you don't need to read this to follow the story. Your daughter could flick through the pictures at her own pace - skipping any that don't interest her and returning to any that do.
There's more info here: booksbeyondwords.co.uk/bookshop/paperbacks/susans-growing
Our books are all developed for people with learning disabilities and communication difficulties, with the aim of improving understanding and also acting as conversation prompts!
You may not feel it's appropriate for your daughter, but thought I'd signpost just in case.
