Adhd and girls?

Do girls present different to boys? Ds 8 has adhd and he's classic. But I'm worried about dd 6. She's definitely nowhere near as hyper as him but she has poor concentration. She gets anxious esp during social situations. And she's struggling academically in school possibly due to her lack of focus and concentration.

So I'm worried about her because of her lack of progress in school and don't really know what to do? Just wondering if anyone else had a girl with adhd and found it difficult to get help or support.

Yes, my dd has ADHD. Very different presentation to boys that I know have ADHD. She wants to please, so she doesn't come across as "naughty" in the same way as boys do. She isn't all over the place at school in the same way, but she has little focus/attention span. She is up and down in the classroom, but always finds a reason why she needs to be up, rather than running around causing general chaos. We didn't ask for assessment until Y3 when her particularly observant teacher suggested ADD (which became ADHD on assessment). Prior to that, she was just seen as having learning difficulties (nothing diagnosed) because of processing issues and weak short term memory. She is also extremely anxious.

We are currently looking into this too. My DD doesn’t run around etc but has no attention span. She gets upset easily and often cries for no real reason. This is in all aspects of her life. She has to work hard at friendships and even knowing how to interact with kids she wants to play with.

She is struggling in school because although she can give verbal answers no problem and is really good at reading when you ask her to write things down her attention wanders and she often can’t complete the work.

Girls apparently present differently and as result are often undiagnosed.
