Piedro Boots Advice Please!

Just 6 weeks ago my DS got his 1st pair of Piedro stability boots.
Well for the last 2 weeks the sole has started to come away from the boot (posing a tripping hazard) It started on one foot - and now the other foot is doing it too. This morning I took the inserts out of the boots and stood him on them to see how they were fitting him - On one foot it fits fine - but the other foot the toe is coming over the end. So - not only are they coming apart - they don't fit him either!!!
Will he be able to get a new pair after only 6 WEEKS????

should be able to. they shouldnt be falling apart anyway.

They doesn't sound right at all. They don't fit him! They are supposed to made froma cast of his own feet surely and therefore the most perfect fit ever??? I'd ring the physio or the hospitalm, whoever you got themn from and demand that you are seen asap, that you shouldn't have to wait all over again.

I'm STILL on the waiting list for my first appt for Lotties boots. Can't belive they are so busy! The physio said there had been a rush on! I've been waiting for approx 2 months just to get her measured!

This doesn't sound right at all. DS wears Piedros, and IME they are the best quality shoes ever, and stand up under the most rigorous use! You MUST have a duff pair - unless your DS has been paddling in acid, or something. Also, they should fit him better. Does he wear / need split sizes? Our ortotist has had a problem as the main supplier has ceased to supply split sized pairs (Duh!) - are they fobbing you off with 2 the same size when he should have two different sizes?

Go STRAIGHT back to the orthotics dept, as you say this is dangerous, and if they're not right, they need replacing, never mind how new they are.

Good luck!

take him back to the orthotist and tell him what has happened and that he needs remeasuring. they may be able to lend you some 2nd hand boots whilst you are waiting for the new ones, so ask

I've spoken to the clinic - they are going to send him an appointment for refitting as soon as they can.
Not sure if I should keep him in these whilst I wait or if they may be more dangerous than anything else!!!

And no Luckymum - nothing IS ever straightforward in my household!!! LOL!!
