Anyone got any experience? Clearly she hasn’t been through enough shit already. Le sigh.

I have paed (to rule out physiological cause) and mental health appts booked next week, but i’m Struggling to find anyone who has dealt with this.
Just to give you a flavour - one of her compulsions is that she can’t have her feet on the floor. So half of the time she is trying to jump/ hop/ levitate. This would be hard enough to deal with an NT child. How the actual fuck are you supposed to deal with it in a kid that has serious gait issues and couldn’t walk unaided until she was 7?
Apols for whining. Having a SOH failure.

OCD is really tough even it there are no other issues as well.

CBT is the best way to tackle it but you need someone who has experience dealing with OCD. Would she be able to engage with that?

My ds had very severe OCD from age 9 to 18. He still has it but it is under control and doesn't have a hugh impact on his life any more.
He has ASD and could only really engage with the behavioural part of it. It was a long road and at times seemingly impossible but we got there in the end.

I hope the appointments this week are useful. Let us know how it goes.
