Cerebral palsy diagnosis? MRI?

My DD is one and has been undergoing investigations for causes of her GDD. MRI was normal... I'm beginning to wonder about cerebral palsy. Can you still have this with a clear MRI?

DD is hypotonic, delayed in every area also has muscle tremors. Thank you.

Also to add... There is no obvious cause for CP such as a birth injury.

Yes it is possible to have CP and a clear MRI. However I have met children who have CP type symptoms but that are diagnosed with genetic disorders.

Presume you are under a paediatric service of some kind? Have you been given any advice about further testing?

Yes it’s possible.

My ds is 13 now and has spastic (hypertonic) muscles and now has contractures, terrible balance and co ordination and myoclonus and also hyper reflexive.

He has just started baclofen and been referred for surgery to lengthen his muscles.

He’s also has a clear MRI but is seeing a neuromuscular specialist soon because as said that doesn’t rule out CP or CP type difficulties. He also has asd and odd skin marks and I’m asking about genetic testing too.

What I’ve done is focus on them giving him what he needs to meet his symptoms despite not knowing cause - rather than focus on a diagnosis - as previously no diagnosis seemed to mean no help!
