Pupil premium eligibility

Hello, I am just wondering if my ds (5) is entitled to pupil premium at school. He’s dyspraxic etc and has been awarded DLA but we are not on any other benefits or low income.

I have tried googling it but it seems you need a degree to figure it out!

Disability isn't a qualifier for pupil premium.

PP is linked to free school meals, adoption/looked after child and parent/s in forces.

If your child needs extra support as a result of their disability you need to look at SEN legislation. IPSEA and SOSSEN would be good places to start.

I believe if her is on the special needs register at school then school will receive pp for him.

No, schools don't get pupil premium purely because a pupil is on the SEN register.

He is entitled to have his needs met under the Equality Act and under the SEND Code of Practice. PP is for something different though many children with SEND do qualify for PP too.
