Recommendations for reading ASD

Hello everyone,
I have been to the hospital today for my son's ADOS assessment feedback. And he has been diagnosed with ASD, not totally un expected but a shock even so to see it in black and white.
Anyway, trying to be proactive and as I left his very brilliant Dr said to me "remember knowledge is power."
So I am here if anyone has any recommendations for reading material?
I know there will be many of you who know where I need to look.
Thanks.

10 things every child with autism wishes you knew. It was highly recommended by our autism assessment team and if you can look past the Americanisms (assuming you're in the U.K.) I thought it was brilliant. Really easy to read and balanced and practical. Good luck x

Great thank you Dannygirl, I will look for that too. It's a minefield of books isn't it?

Roy Grinker's 'Isobel's World'

Claire Sainsbury's 'Martian in the Playground'

Depending on your son's presentation, Mike Stanton's 'Learning to live with high functioning autism'

John Williams' 'My Son's Not Rainman'

And watch this with the lovely Rosie King.

Thanks Polter. I need to re read his report properly. As I read it in a slight daze today and the little tinker has only just gone to sleep! It's high functioning, he has sensory issues with touch and problems socially. Will look at it properly though. Feels a bit embarrassed I haven't read it properly.🙈 it's been a long day!

Great recommendations above, I'll look into these too.

I've read "The reason I jump" by Naoki Higashida which is good - written by a boy with autism when he was 13. He's written a second book about 10 years later called "Fall down 7 times get up 8" but I haven't read this one yet.
