I've tried to get myself ready this morning but still not dressed!! Dd is v v busy and intense, she creates a lot of mess too! I do wonder about ADHD or is it just a trait of ASD (which she is being assessed for)

Anyone else identify with this!

Also, apologies for my lack of replies to frequent posters on here a while back - I had problems/glitch with mumsnet.

We're still stuck at home. Dd refusing to get dressed, brush teeth of hair. Just changing into lots of dressing up outfits (which she often fashions herself and gets frustrated with) or sitting in underwear. Lots and lots of constant mess everywhere. I'm exhausted.

Hello Blossom! No advice I'm afraid but just wanted to say hello. One of my MN friends has a DD like this (same age as my DD - 3.3 - do I remember right that your DD is a bit younger?) and has been wondering about possible ASD or ADHD but no diagnosis as yet. It sounds exhausting, but if she's anything like my friend's daughter very funny and a real character too! I hope you get a chance for some respite soon. My friend's DD seems to have phases of being more and less difficult to get out of the house (in clothes at least)... is it the same with your DD?

I don't know about it being a trait of ASD or ADHD - we're still awaiting assessment for our DD, but she's still in her nightie, and as we're not going out today (both DH and I work from home) I can't be doing with the hassle or arguments of trying to get her dressed!

She has been happy, dancing and singing downstairs, but everywhere ends up a mess with blankets and cushions taken everywhere - under the kitchen table is a normal one.

I don't really know if it helps, but I do understand your frustration!!

Oh gosh I hear you OP. My DD 3.5 is the exact same. It is relentless isnt it. So much drama just to leave the house! The only thing that sometimes occasionally works is a visual time table/routine so she knows what is coming. Wine and Cake for you

It's not necessarily an asd trait because you have to look at the child as a whole. DS2 (4) is like a tornado hitting the house and seems determined to have every inch of floor covered with toys. He instantly spots something new and has to dismantle it. He loves to be naked and clothes are discarded all over the floor too. His speech is very unclear to other people. He only eats white, beige and brown foods and they must be seperate on the plate. In some children this would be a red flag for autism, however it is ds1 who has a physical disability and DS2 is completely 'normal' but has glue ears!

Thank you all, we have other traits of ASD and assessments are ongoing. Dd is 6 and additional needs and behaviours have been looked into since she was 3.

ADHD hasn't been picked up but I feel it a possibility perhaps, not sure.

Managed to get out for a little while today but tantrums galore since we got home, over clothes and lunch.
