Hello! I was wondering if anyone could give me any help or advice or just generally point me in the right direction ......

My friend is due with her 2nd child in July. She already has a 5 year old son who is severely mentally handicapped. He has no mobility whatsoever and needs to be in a pram / chair whenever he is taken out. My friend is looking for a double buggy / contraption of some sort that would enable her to go out with both the newborn and her son. Her son is an average-sized lad of 5 and is 105cm tall.

Has anyone had any experience of this or could anyone point me in the right direction to finding a solution to her dilemma??

Thank you!

I agree, but does "depend" on the child, iywim!!? My DD1 (3) is very lazy; but my DD2 (22m) on the other hand can go for miiiiiles without the aid of wheels!!

Just seen this thread, I am in a similar situation. My three yr old dd ( heart defects, asthma, now seems she has something wronmg with her legs/feet ) cannot walk far as she gets too tired and gets breathless. We had the Jane powertwin for her and her little brother ( 13 months) , but she has got too tall for it now. we are currently using a double umbrella fold, but her feet drag on the floor. We have the seat to go, but she gets too tired to use it, as she cannot hold herself upright when she is tired.
We are now looking at either the mountain buggy ATP or Adventure buggy ( doubles) . Haven't looked into the Nipper though so might take a pootle down to the baby shop this weekend and have a look !!!

The trouble we are having is the financing of the new buggy. The wheel chair service will give us a major buggy for dd, but will not/cannot take into account the needs of the youngest one. They say they can only provide buggies for the disablled child and the siblings are not taken into account !
Yes of course I can push a major buggy and a single buggy at the same time, I have a spare pair of hands didn't you know !!!
