Worth applying for DLA without evidence..?

DD is 3 and is awaiting assessment for ASD. Nothing in writing yet apart from a copy of the referral but it doesn't have much info on.

I have heard you can apply before dx but is it worth it or are we likely to be turned down especially since she is still young? She is probably HF or Aspie if that makes a difference although we are really struggling with sensory issues.

I am not being grabby but anticipate a lot of appointments coming up for her in the next town. I don't drive and will have to probably get a taxi because public transport will be too much for her. So the money would come in useful for that.

Thanks in advance

is she in nursery or going to a childminder?

can they write something? I had nursery write something about DD when she was 3.

my DD (22 months) has just received MRC until she is 5 and she has no diagnosis. She has however been seen by a host of professionals and has a place at the local SN school nursery when she turns 2 so we had quite a lot of supporting evidence to go along with our claim. I don't think age and no diagnosis would matter but the lack of evidence might. I agree with coffeemachine can you ask nursery, GP, health visitor etc to write a supporting letter?

Yes definitely, I applied before diagnosis and got middle rate care and low mobility no questions asked and all I sent was appointment letters from the paediatrician, filled in the form myself was awarded 3 weeks later
