No IEPs?

When speaking to DS3's (5) teacher yesterday, I asked if I'd be unreasonable to request that DS is given an IEP. I was told this is not done anymore. I queried whether they still have school action/school action plus and was told that the only official provision for any SEN now is an EHCP. Is this true of all schools, or just this one (which we're very happy with)?!

I am gobsmacked, horrified even! My son likely won't ever qualify for an EHCP as he achieves academically. He has suspected ASD. He basically won't get any formal help, and his teacher confirmed that this is all due to lack of funding. What the fuck am I supposed to do to help my child?!

No, they have to make adjustments accordingly and be inclusive. check out IPSEA for detailed information on this.

We have an IEP... he was given his first in Jan and we've had two revisions since then

I don't know anything about the rules and regs to do with SEN, but I find that absolutely gobsmacking. What does it say on the school website? I think they have to post their policy. I would request a meeting with the head and then keep on moving upwards from there - governors, LEA. Not sure of the procedure, but it seems unacceptable to me.
