School in Sussex for a bright ASD child

My DS is currently in a small prep school in yr 7. We moved him out of state as the large class sizes and lack of support lead to underachievement and social isolation. He is currently being assessed for ASD but has at least many ASD traits, processing issues and social communication issues. He does not have an EHCP, and has fairly good school reports. We are looking for somewhere suitable for senior school. Seaford have surprisingly said they can't meet his needs, Slindon looks too far as we have to factor in our other child DD re school drop offs/pick ups. We have looked at Northease and liked it. Does anyone have any views on Northease or any other ideas? Thank you.

Shoreham college is non selective but mainstream unlike Northease which is "specialist". Theres LVS Hassocks for ASD?

What about Steiner school in East Grinstead?

Thank you for these suggestions. Unfortunately, DS has already been rejected by Shoreham College. LVS is one I've considered although last ofsted is not good and I think it might be restrictive in curriculum. The Steiner school does not really encourage applications from sn children - I looked at that as well.

Where abouts are you? I have a friend with a son at woodlands mead which think is near burgess hill and another friend who moved their son (who has an EHCP) from Slindon to the Steiner at east grinstead so I know they do take Sen but I guess it's an individual thing. Can you get any advice from an ed psyc about suitable places to try? We used John Mckeown in Brighton.

I know Northease well and am really impressed by it. Feel free to PM me if you want any further info.

I'm under the impression that LVS Hassocks is for children with substantially more 'severe' (if that's the right word) autism than most of the children have at Northease, though I could be wrong.
