who lives round the corner who's daughter has special needs. I know it sounds silly but it was so nice to talk to someone who lives close who is going through the same things as me. Her daughter has microcephaly and global delays (but has a diagnosis) and it just feels nice to have found a friend who I can talk to (although I have made another lovely friend who understands me too Wink )

How soppy!!! Just wanted to share. it has made my daySmile we sat and had a coffee and talked for ages, we are meeting again soon. I am really going soft in my old age Wink

fio that's lovely. it makes such a difference to have friends with children who have SN and who understand.
Tomorrow night I'll be going out for a meal with some of the other mums from dd's special nursery. Can't wait, they're all such nice folks.

Meant to add, that I would definitely go for coffee with you if we lived close enough, so the woman obviously has taste

Great news Fio2. I have quite a large group of friends with special needs children. I met them at a local support group and they have been a god send. I am going to sound soppy now but it's nice to know that you're not the only one isn't it! I also find that only people with special needs children themselves REALLY understand. I do have lots of lovely friends that are supportive who don't have sn BTW

Really pleased Fio [smil]

I made friends with a couple of girls whose children are L's age and have DS. One lives very locally and we just really get on. We've taking the kids out on Thurdsday and I love watching her son and l play together, they are so similar it just feels rightand makes me feel good and i know she feels the same.

Really pleased for you, we all know how important and comforting it is to have a close friend who understands becasue she walks in the same shoes and I'm pleased you've found that person.

And for the record that may i add she's lucky to have fgound you and if you can still make it I'm SO looking forward to a real life hug in Maidstone on 14 August!
