Hi All,

I sent my very first DLA application away last week for DD2. I know they say 40 days from when they receive the application but I wondered if it's actually takes that long?

I don't know why, but I feel really nervous about.

Thank You

Thank you friendly She was also awarded it until she is 5 which really surprised me (in a good way!). So I am thankful not to have to do the form again for a few years... although the letter said they will be in touch when she is 3 regarding her mobility but I am going to remain positive and hope she is a bit more mobile by then and won't need it!

Cph21, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, they may well be of the view that all babies take significant care, so whilst your baby will have different care needs they may be no more so than other babies of her age. You may be successful at reconsideration, or even appeal, but at any rate, as she gets older, it will be easier to show that she requires more care. She will qualify for low rate care at 3.
