was just browsing pushchairs (as you do!) on ebay and noticed a all terrain/3 wheeler pushchair for sale.

it says it suits age 2-7yrs, cost £475 new. is a starting bid of £100.

if you go into pushchairs then put jogger in the search bit it is under 'jogger ll for disabled child'. there are no bids at the moment.

Yhat sounds strange, have never heard of a jogger that dear, I guess it depends what you want it for.
If you posted the link we could have a look?

I imagine that a jogger for a child with disabilities would be more expensive than the average.

It is fairly easy to find on ebay if you follow maisystar's directions, but there is no photo.

Thanks sm, we used a (standard) Land Rover 3 wheeler while at a friend's a few weeks ago. My dh hasn't stopped raving about it. As dd will almost certainly need 'transport' beyond the norm I have been thinking about looking into whether any LR 3 wheelers would be suitable. Perfect!

HIC you will be entitled to a major buggy you know? They are really niceSmile

Jimjams · 07/07/2004 18:36

I've got the normal version of the pathfinder and it is a great buggy- did ds1, now onto ds2 and still going strong for ds3- can push with one hand etc- apart from one flat tyre has never needed any repairs (touch wood)

They used to be made by pegasus and they did a great SN version. My friend's MIL lived next door to the company director but they sold it to someone else and apparently sevice then went down the tubes and I think they may now have folded. If you get the chance of a second hand one I'd go for it although its true about the hammock seat (on slightly mad's link).

I've also got a double nipper- which is good but not as well made as the pegasus.

I wouldn't or could'nt be without my 3-wheeler mountain buggy for my dd. They are made in New Zealand and adapted in the Uk for the special needs market. We were even able to use our wheelchair vouchers to help with the cost. We use to live at the seaside and with the 3-wheeler even the beach was do-able. The wheelchair services people didnt really know very much about 3-wheelers, and certainly in our area, they would have had everyone in a major buggy...... These buggys are great, but not so great if you want to go down the beach or a walk along the cliffs etc...

Three wheelers aren't suitable for ds2's posture as there isn't enough support for him. We are STILL waiting for his wheelchair, which should do the trick if it ever arrives (he's 3y4m)

heartinthecountry · 08/07/2004 00:03

At what point do you become entitled to a Major or vouchers? I'm guessing it is 3yrs as that seems to be when all the mobility stuff kicks in. And who do you need to ask?

lou33 · 08/07/2004 19:27

Ds had his major aged 2, as they knew he would be needing mobility for a looong time. We are now waiting for a wheelchair to replace it. If you have a physio or an ot, ask them, or else get the hv to refer you.
