What's this all about?!

We had a day at home, and DD (anxiety, Selective Mutism, Sensory Struggles and poss ASD) was wearing comfortable clothes. She wouldn't get ready for the day but mostly wore pyjamas, dressing up clothes, swimming costume and loose fitting dress. She got changed around 13 times, poss more!!

Any other's littles ones do this at all? She often does it when not at school, but increasing I'd say. She can't reach her hanging rail in wardrobe so I'm constantly hanging clothes back up or trying to make sure she's warm enough. She hardly ever likes anything in her feet also.

So she has started again, with wrapping sarongs around her, changing clothes etc. She also often moves furniture to make dens in lounge. This is what weekend mornings consist of!
Just a kid being a kid? Feels a little more intense.

my son has autism and sensory processing he cannot stand the feel of clothing. He says it is itchy uncomfortable etc. he has Gap tracksuit bottoms as they are soft does not like the feel of proper trousers. His school trousers have to be washed many times before wearing as he does not like them to feel stiff. its the same with school shirts and t shirts. He takes clothes off indoors. he also makes dens with sheets and whatever he can in the lounge where he sits in with his disco lights. I think it is to do with his anxiety if he has had a busy day at school he makes a den and hides away. i think its his way of coping. Maybe your daughter is the same. please pm me if i can be of any help.

Thank you, I'll give her a step but she can almost reach, she won't hang up though.
She's so messy!

Yes, she def feels relaxed and secure with her dens and lay down inside her playhouse after school yesterday. She also now tends to sit at the back door with a blanket around her, daydreaming and looking out into the garden.

We are getting a kitten in a weeks time and hoping she will help DD relax/be happy.
I hope she isn't too anxious about getting scratched!!

She's stubborn and strong willed but worth a go!
