If anyone is able to oblige, please don't think me rude for not responding asap.
I have an essay to thrash out and simply must not get sidetracked by MN!

no idea of cafe but toast is one palm flat, palm face upwards (like a flat plate) other hand then acts like aslice of toast on the 'plate' and you make gentle sawing action.

I think. What I've always done anyway so doesn't matter if it's right or not! DD1 understands it and so do I. In other words you can have your own signs that work between the 2 of you for some things.

So bottom one is horizontal and toast one is vertical right?

I so meant to use vertical and horizontal to explain and something happened inbetween! YES, that's what I mean

Thanks that's great.
For my salt sing & sign group tomorrow.
(I have the cutest little 5 year old boy with DS in it who is a fabulous signer!! Utterly scrumptious.)

I have cafe same as drink and toast as hands facing body pointing up and straightening like popping out of the toaster.

We do toast/bread as TeeCee described - cafe, have no idea I'm afraid

My Makaton book says "sign 'to eat' + sign for 'room'" as Dining room. Don't know if that helps any?

Thank you again.
Fio,that is what Signalong uses.
