I have the opportunity to make a holiday let. I want to make it the holiday cottage I couldn't find when my kids were little. Somewhere without judgment and with an understanding of Autism and Special Needs. A place where adults could rest and relax and kids were safe with plenty on the doorstep fun and recreation, even on rainy days. I am based in Somerset between Bridgwater and Minehead and I would love to have input from families. If you would be willing to share your insights and needs with me to help me create this, I would love to hear from you.

Hi Cakescakescakes
Take your point about responsibility - idea is that your kids get the good bits only! like collecting the eggs and giving them some corn - they will feed from your hand if you are patient and some like to be petted which some kids love. But definitely no noisy birds overnight! Thanks again for your input!

Sorry mixed you up with Cakescakescakes - good point about chickens and yes, there could be flapjack in the welcome pack! Take your point about salt, pepper, oil etc and they will be there along with a great coffee machine to make great latte with a supply of coffee pods. Thanks again!

We are happy to take your shopping delivery and put it away for you so it is here when you arrive. I am doing a list of who delivers here as not all supermarkets do.

Dear Blaeberry
Thanks for the magnetic lock feedback, we will ensure plenty of spare keys - it is only a magnet after all - even if we make our own! Thanks to other mums there will also be a half door to the kitchen (so adults in the kitchen are still in contact with those in the living room and dining room) and this will have an adult lock on it (not quite worked the "how" out for the lock but will do!)

I hate static bedding too - all cotton, no frills and no ruffles.

Yes washing machine, tumble dryer and covered outdoor airer and pegs all provided. Agree bunk beds are out and there are night lights (small leds) which you can leave on.

We have designed the place to be super clean - no tiling in the bathroom, all pipework concealed, all surfaces easy access and easy clean, open shelving (minimal corners), no dusty radiators - under-floor heating, leather sofas and chairs, kitchen all easy wipe, clutter free - light and fresh with space to move around! It will be cleaned well to a standard that we would want for ourselves - ie we want you to feel as if you are the first visitor, every time!

I like your idea of different quilt togs (perhaps I could get the summer/winter where you clip two together to make a winter one - thanks good point, I will look into it). Pillows/quilts - synthetic of feather?

OMG - how irresponsible!!! Absolutely no way - there is a first aid cupboard here and it is fully stocked - high on the wall, with a key!!! Anything else you may need will be in a locked cupboard - I may put a more secure lock on the under-sink cupboard - just in case ...
