Never heard of this programme. Looked at the website but still not sure what it actually does. It would of been great if the owner showed a version of this video modelling.
DS NHS speech therapist didn't do much for him. Though it helped me understood and developed DS play skills, which helped him and he was then able to transfer these skills outside. DS goes to a specialist language school and that was the breakthrough in which he began to talk, so speech therapy did help him talk.
DS currently sees a private SLT who specialises in Autism. The different between her expertise and what we had on the NHS were vastly wide apart. She taught me how to write and use social stories... language structures...attention autism..helping DS understand social idioms etc etc. This helped DS enormously.
What helped DS even more ( and I wished I discovered this when he was very young) was using a high tec assistive technology device...he uses a certain programme... using this device and using an approach called "aided language stimulation" motivated DS to talk even more. The device was just the foundation... I had to model words through out the day (Aided language stimulation) in certain scenarios...e:g. If DS want to get a biscuit on top of the fridge... I would model on his device and say "I want biscuit". If DS is enjoying his drink... I will then model with facial expressions and body language " I like this drink" it's repetitive and they advise to model as much as possible and oh boy... DS doesn't use the device but he has picked up so much language from home by modelling.
