Hi, I'm looking for some help locating a paper to hand out to our sons (age 14) teachers on executive function. He has ASD and Dyslexia and although this isn't always very obvious, his executive functioning is very poor, especially around organising tasks, self monitoring, and working memory.
We feel his teachers often label him as 'could try harder', but in reality it's often executive functioning issues, and they are very slow to put consistent measures in place to help him.
We have a meeting coming up, and I have the CAMHs person and Ed Pych. behind us, but it would be good to have an easy to understand, bullet point type of paper to hand out to teachers, and the (rubbish) Senco, on Executive function, particularly as it relates to education. It might help shift things from blaming our son, to working together... (wishful thinking perhaps)!
Many thanks in advance. It's such a bloody battle sometimes isn't it?
