Feelings books

Can anyone recommend book (s) to help explain feelings to a young child (aged 4-5) with an autistic spectrum condition? There seem to be quite a few available, but I would prefer to hear what people have found helpful.
Thank you.

Thanks, Poltergoose. I think more about identifying their own emotions i.e. angry - how that makes me feel and what I should do about it.

When DD was about that age, we used some from a series of books called 'Learning to Get Along' by Cheri Meiners. We were living overseas at the time and they are American, but I think you can get them on Amazon. They are simple picture book stories that talk through feelings and give examples.

That's really good advice, PolterGoose. Thank you again.

The colour monster is a nice pop up book about feelings. Pretty basic but lovely.

Books didn't work so well for us but we did have a 'feelings tree'. It was one of those metal trees that you can hang stuff on. We hung a few lego people on etc to make it pretty and we made decorations with 'happy' 'sad' 'angry' 'scared' etc on. He was quite non verbal til he was 6ish but we would take the time a few times a day to talk about it and he could change the decorations to say how he was feeling.
