MMR Booster??

Please excuse my ignorance, not sure if this is a stupid question but I need some reassurance.
DS2 was born 3 months early & later dx with CP (mild) & also GDD.
After much debate with GP & his consultant we gave him the MMR at around 18mths largely convinced by his consultant quoting ds frequent infections as a good reason to go ahead.
DS has gone on to develop as yet undiagnosed Sensory, anxiety, Obsessional problems with some typical Autistic behaviours (eventually we believe he will be dx ASD).
He is 4 & due to have his MMR booster shortly, even though I believe all his difficulties to be associated with his prem birth & brain damage is there any evidence to suggest that the booster can have an adverse effect regardless of the original cause.
Soory again if this seems like a really daft question.

Personally with that history I would not touch it with a barge-pole. Don't forget it's only relatively recently that the MMR booster was introduced - it was not recommended at the time when my elder daughter (now 16) was having her vaccines so clearly there has been uncertainty, until relatively recently, about the need for it. There is still a huge amount about vaccines that is not properly understood, in my opinion.
I always find it quite extraordinary how medical professionals are so obsessive about pushing vaccinations even with family histories that might suggest adverse reactions (can you be sure that the previous vaccinations were not implicated in some way in your child's problems?) The medical profession, by and large, really do have an ostrich mentality towards vaccines I think. Why not consider a blood test, to test for immunity to measles, mumps and rubella? Your child might already have immunity in which case there would be no point in having the booster anyway?

It's not a stupid question at all - truth is no-one really knows. I think I'd give it a miss personally, but there isn't a 'right' answer imo. I imagine the booster is pretty much the same as the MMR itself; maybe that info is available? It wasn't implicated in my ds's autism but I know parents who are very sure it was at least contributory for their children, and the theory as to why makes sense to me.

Thank you both for your answers. The more I think about it the more questions & doubt I have.
I honestly think his problems were showing before MMR, he was always a silent baby, didn't like being held & very difficult to stimulate. But this ws always exlained by prematurity & delays.
His previous vaccs were all given on time, infact his first jabs were given in SCBU before his due date!
The blood test is a good idea though, if he has the immunity anyway it is a pointless process.
