perhaps rather than use the word problems say everyone is different andgive an examples: you could say I like blue and your favourite is red
Hope this helps

twiglet my daughter has a global development delay and my friends son, who is 11, asked me why my daughter was disabled and how she was disabled because he knew she was different. I just said to him that she learning new things like 'normal' children but it was just taking her longer to learn them. There was nothing 'wrong' with her she was just slower. He seemed to understand this and just said ' oh thats like graham in my class!' I dont really know what else to say but I wouldnt tell him he had 'problems' although I do say my daughter has problems, but children take it in a different way, I dont know if this is making sense!
