DS1 has stopped wetting the bed (touch wood 1000 times). Overnight, after about a year or so of wetting it every night. Strange child. He went of his plastic duvet cover and wouldn't have it on. So I told him if he stopped wetting the bed he could have a nice duvet. So he did

Only [problem is he's now getting up at 5am to use the toilet (and then staying up)!

Well at least it is two steps forward and one back - rather than the one forward two back variety

That'll cut your laundry bill quite considerably I should think!

The 5am starts must hurt but the bliss of not having to strip a bed every day and put new bedding on every day, oh that must be bliss.

It is TC- silly because in the grand scheme it is such a tiny thing, but it's a real pleasure not to hasve to do it. Now I have the backlog soapy

glad to hear that. dd has been asking to go and going. so really pleased here. but I will stick to pads at night as now way she can tell me then(sometimes I am lucky)

Brilliant news - unfortunately you may have to stick with the early waking but after 2 years of it myself 5am is not so bad - at least packed lunches are done - beds made - washing done - house tidy when i get back from the school run instead of having it all to do. Then the morning is just for DD and I to have fun until DS2 comes home from Nursery and shatters the peace lol.

The main problem with the 5am's is that I have to work in the evenings and I'm falling asleep about 9pm at the moment!

We have a hosue full of duvets Dotty, so he has his nice one on now

Not a small thing at all. Toilet stuff is disproportionately upsetting, I find. It's great news. and its not just the weeing, it's the understanding that's so fantastic here. You've done a verbal bargain with him!

Yes, I was thinking that - I don't know anything about your ds1 in terms of what he can/can't do or understand, but if he's got the concept of getting something he wants by doing something you want him to, hopefully there's more bribery and negotiation which can be done - like if you stay in your room until 6am (does he recognise numbers?) you can have.... pretty much anything?!

DS1 became dry earlier this year - we were very pleased .

I have had a few years of wet beds and lots of washing plus the 5am wake up as he finds himself in the wet bed. I'd rather he slept in the wee

do you have kylies Davros- ds1 happily slept in the wee in those (although would wake up with any other plastic sheet).

No, we don't have Kylies so I must look for them. I use washable pads and waterproof everything. I have just started getting one disposable pad a night from the Eneurisis service but they are not very good. I hoped they would save some of the washing, I need to try using 2 at a time methinks.
