School appointment

I have appointments to view schools, in the next month, as we're transferring from statement to EHCP. I would like to be somewhat 'prepared' for when I'm due to name a school.

What concerns me is that I see the good in everyone and generally believe what I'm told. How on earth can I see the difference between a sales pitch and a genuinely good school? I'm stressing so much and am terrified of making the wrong choice.

In that case take somebody with you. A friend or relative (or both) that knows your child well, that way you get other perspectives!

Even visit each school twice on different days of the week so you get to see different lessons/staff/things going on etc... (-;

Thanks pandy, I'm not sure that will be possible tbh. The only person who could, isn't available for the majority of the visits.

I like the idea of multiple visits on different days too.

My plan when he moves is to ask specific questions, ask how the interventions look within his day. Ask how they will monitor progress and how this will be communicated to me. Then to email the school to confirm what we discussed. Then ask to visit again to see some of the interventions in place with other students.

Ds is MS. He wouldn't qualify for SS but would probably fit criteria for specialist school or do well in MS indi as smaller classes.

Yes, that's the issue I'm also having.

My ds doesn't have a ECHP. Refused assessment just over year ago - I'm about to reapply.
