Because if he brings me his bag once more then shouts and screams and cries for HOURS when I say "no school, it's holiday" every day this holiday I am going to go mad.

Wanders off muttering about the fact that there USED to be a holiday club at his school but it was closed for lack of funding and all the funding went to bloody inclusion projects which of course he can't be f included in!

Today I had my lovely girl in and dh home ill so took him down to Somerfield and the bookshop to take his mind off it, (which I won't be able to do normally because there won't be enough of us) and he ended up screaming on the floor of the bookshop with the shop assistant saying "What's he doing?" er what does it look like? He want sot go out the back bit of the shop where he's not allowed as he knows there's stairs there. Obviously.

Ohhh God, you poor thing. Sodding holidays aye. Is you DH taking time off over Xmas, will you have any help?

Did that stuff turn up btw?

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 19/12/2006 20:41

guess the crossing days of a timetble/schedule thing has been tried/won't work?

RnBee · 19/12/2006 20:50

hope it gets better. I know how you feel. Have had just about enough of the holidays myself.

Jimjams2 · 19/12/2006 21:04

TeeCee I emailed you on Saturday- did you miss it or did it not arrive? (Don't worry about missing the message, I do that all the time- I'm just concerned my email is playing up- there are a couple of other messages sent at around the same time that weren''t replied to which I thought was bit odd). It did turn up and ET was wonderful! Even ds1 watched it.

The timetable thing is kind of too long. Although he does have visual aids. He knows that its no school, he understands that, I guess he's just cross about it, and doesn't understand how long he has to wait to go back. I can udneratand that I just wish he wouldn't scream about it so much!

Great, glad it arrived ok.
I'm off work and that's where I get my emails so haven't seen it yet. Am popping into office tomorrow though so will pick it up then.

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 19/12/2006 21:09

Oh and really glad ET went down well as well

Good news you have DH around for a bit to help out. My DP has a load of time booked off too thank God.

Jimjams2 · 19/12/2006 21:12

@ the dry bed. Hope holidays get better as they go...

Jimjams2 · 19/12/2006 21:27

Thanks scummy. I will be thinking of you tomorrow- I have my lovely girl in, have ds3 off at nursery in the morning so we are going to brave the soft play centre (I must be mad), and the favourite slide. Well we may do, I am going to try ringing them in the morning to get an idea of how busy it is etc.

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 19/12/2006 21:27

That's so good, fingers crossed it lasts

Jimjams2 · 19/12/2006 21:31

Fingers and toes crossed here

jj - if it is any consolation we are in week 1 of 6 weeks summer holidays and dd1 is continually asking to go to kindy and school ( sn kindy), asking for her kindy teachers and so on. I keep telling her she is on holidays and point to her weekly timetable ( pics) to show there are no pics so no kindy etc....

However we are lucky - no screaming.

Brilliant news about the pjs and dry bed!! hope it keeps up.

Jimjams2 · 20/12/2006 08:16

Almost managed a dry night- could go either way from now.

Glad i'm not the only one with this eidsvold. DS1 has spent the last 1/2 hour trying to persuade me to get him dressed in his school uniform. Aaaagghhhhh!!!!

Am off to print out another attempt at a symbol explanation.

yeah we're all better He's still crying next door and saying the name of his school (well 'uh hun' which is his attempt at it).

We saw his teacher on Sunday- she drew up at traffic lights next to us, was waving madly and looked really pleased to see him- I think if i see her again I'll pass him across to her

well he was dry all night, then appears to have woken up, stripped off, wet his bed, THEN got up to go to the toilet. WHY????

And he's asking for school again. I got out my prepared symbol explanation- and he just keeps pointing to the school symbol (which I was impressed with- he pointed to it before I labelled it so obviously read it).Oh here we go am having a school bag shoved at me.

Its really hard isnt it, i dont know how to explain to Ds1 that theres no nursery , he is very very angry. {he goes to a specialist nursery full time] he is 4 and has asd.

snuggles3 · 21/12/2006 10:04

Nursery have managed to teach Ds1 to stay dry and i am impressed cus i thought it would take a lot longer, i have been trying for a while. Hes not dry at night but im not worried about that just yet. And he only has a few accidents.

Jimjams2 · 21/12/2006 10:37

ds1 was dry for years before deciding to bloody wet his bed every night and wallow in it. He does it on purpose as he always strips off first of all. He never wets himself whilst wearing pyjamas. Grrrr.
